Somehow keeps everything on your phone. There is no account, no server, and no way to sign in. Your rooms, your tasks, your history and your photos are stored on the device and nowhere else.
Two things do leave your phone, and only these two:

This is stored in a database inside the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes all of it. Settings has a Delete all data option if you want it gone without removing the app.
Photos you take in Somehow are written to the app's private storage. They do not go to your camera roll, and they are not uploaded anywhere. Location data is stripped from a photo when it is taken, so a photo does not record where you were.
You can delete photos from inside the app. Nobody else can see them, because there is nowhere else for them to be.
If the app hits an error, it sends a report to Sentry, a service that collects crash data on our behalf. A report contains the error message, the stack trace — the list of functions the app was running — and a short label saying which part of the app failed.
A report does not contain your name, your email, an account identifier, a device name, or anything you typed or photographed. There is no identifier that links one report to another or to you.
Sentry receives the network connection your phone makes to send the report, in the same way any website you visit does. We do not attach your IP address to the report itself.
Crash reporting cannot currently be turned off in the app. It is on for every released version.
The app also keeps a short error log on your phone that is never sent anywhere. It exists so a problem can be looked at without any network at all.
Settings has a tip jar. It buys nothing — there is no feature to unlock, and nothing in the app changes whether you tip or not.
A tip is handled by Apple, through the App Store. Payment details never reach the app and are never seen by us. We receive no receipt, store no record of who tipped, and keep no purchase history. Apple's own privacy policy covers what Apple does with the transaction.
Reminders are off unless you turn them on. When they are on, they are scheduled by your phone, on your phone. There is no push server, and no notification token is created or sent.
Settings can export your data as a JSON or CSV file. That only happens when you ask for it. Where the file then goes is up to you — if you send it somewhere, it goes there because you sent it.
Somehow is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from anyone. Since it collects nothing about anybody, there is nothing held about a child either.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what leaves your phone will be described in the app's release notes, not just here.
